com SUMMARY The engineer will perform as a civil engineer supporting design and construction at FBI facilities in various locations, but seated at Quantico, VA.
Will team with other engineering disciplines to program, design, and manage the construction of facility projects.
Will also assist in facilities maintenance and management of FBI facilities.
Essential Functions:
Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project.
Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, applying knowledge and techniques or engineering, and advanced mathematics.
Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
Prepares civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and plans, and water/sewer plans based on existing local utilities and facility load and use.
Uses AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project execution Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools required.
Marginal Functions:
May direct construction and maintenance activities at project site.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering ABET accredited school.
A minimum of 5 years of experience required on construction projects Professional Engineering License (preferred) Skills:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of building codes related to site and storm water infrastructure.
Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2014 or later.
Relevant experience in civil engineering aspects of design and construction phases.
