IT Specialist(Network)

This position involves a multi-grade career ladder.
The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-13.
At the GS-12 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence.
You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-12.
Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.
This position is located within the Quantico Information Technology Center supporting the National Cemetery Administration(NCA).
You will serve as a division member and subject matter expert in project planning activities, development of application and systems requirements, and implementation of systems solutions across multiple operational components of VA information technology.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Independently perform the design, testing, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting and management of local and large-scale data networks.
Works with customers, service providers and contractors on a variety of technical levels with the installation and troubleshooting of network components, wiring, LAN and WAN related devices.
Manage the backups and IOS upgrades of all Cisco related devices via Cisco LMS.
Manage and troubleshoot a variety of wiring interconnections of network devices to include copper, fiber and connection modules.
Author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Visio diagrams and other technical related documentation pertaining to all aspects of network engineering.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
