Quantico, VA Overview:
Abacus Technology is seeking a Project/Technical Solutions Manager to oversee new and existing projects and recommend modernization strategies for the technical infrastructure of the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in Quantico.
This is a full-time position.
Major Duties &
Responsibilities:
Project Managemento Provide support for project planning, management, and implementation.
o Provide project management services including weekly status updates on priority projects and submission/updating of project plans containing:
work breakdown structures; required resources; risks/risk mitigation; estimated days required to complete individual tasks and overall project.
o Interact with subject matter experts as necessary for project completion.
o Build and maintain specialized knowledge AFOSI's platforms, networks, applications, service, and processes.
o Provide support for new projects and projects in O&M status.
o Work with Government Project/Program Manager throughout the life of the project.
o Prepare and submit a project plan for government approval.
Technology Insertion o Investigate and analyze innovative and emerging technologies to improve IT system performance as well as mission success.
o Evaluate the existing and planned IT environment, assess areas for improvement, make recommendations and implement directed changes.
o Perform IT strategic planning with the government.
o Develop and coordinate detailed proposals for implementation of new technologies for approval and funding.
o Ensure recommended alternatives are in concert with overall AF recommended and proposed technologies.
o Provide the Government with a Life Cycle Support Plan (LCSP) for all new technologies.
o Manage the implementation of approved plans.
Qualifications:
15
years experience in an IT role including at least 5 years of project management experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Business, or related field.
Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.
g.
, Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8140 certification requirements).
Microsoft certification desired.
Experience with project management, Oracle, Windows, Cisco, Azure and AWS Cloud, Cognos, Linux, Low-code application development, Windows application development, network/system/architecture engineering, and system administration.
Experience with Microsoft Project and Visio.
Experience investigating emerging technologies and developing and coordinating detailed proposals for implementation of new technologies.
Experience with USAF IT environment and networks.
Must have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and interact professionally within all levels of an organization.
Must be willing to travel occasionally.
Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
